Highlights
- Granular Accountability: Tailored dashboards for every team member ensure each role sees the most relevant data, driving better decision-making and efficiency.
- Consolidated Sales & Marketing: Lead and campaign data moved from ACT, Mailchimp and spreadsheets into one platform, enabling compact, measurable campaigns and seamless e-commerce listings.
- Enhanced Sustainability Reporting: Full visibility of asset lifecycles supports ICEX’s goal to become carbon-negative and offer carbon-offsetting insights to clients.
- Agile, Collaborative Rollout: Short development sprints and a Teams-based collaboration model made Recycly feel like an extension of ICEX’s own team.
- Specially Catered Processes: The platform flexibly handles both data-treatment services and refurbished-product sales, matching ICEX’s dual-customer business model.
1. Can you briefly describe ICEX’s business model, size and your role there?
“We specialise in the secure refurbishment, repurposing and disposal of IT assets for clients across banking, insurance, healthcare and data-centre sectors. Licensed by the Environment Agency, we operate an approved treatment facility and hold high-level information-security accreditations. As CEO, I set strategic vision, manage partnerships and oversee our operations from collection through to resale or recycling.”
2. What were you doing for IT asset tracking and disposition before Recycly?
“We used a mix of ACT CRM for prospects, Mailchimp for campaigns and localised Excel spreadsheets for asset tracking. It worked, but data was fragmented across systems.”
3. What pain-points or manual workarounds were causing you the biggest headaches?
“Key processes weren’t integrated - marketing lists lived in Mailchimp, sales pipelines in ACT and assets in spreadsheets, so it took hours to compile reports or launch targeted campaigns.”
4. How did you first hear about Recycly?
“I first came across Recycly at an ADISA conference and was impressed by their focus on process integration and sustainability reporting.”
5. Who else did you evaluate, and what tipped the scale in Recycly’s favour?
“We evaluated other ITAD ERP vendors, but their modules were siloed. Recycly’s end-to-end support – even in early development – aligned perfectly with our phased delivery plan and certification requirements.”
6. Which must-have features were most critical for you?
“Centralised CRM with contract details, granular asset-lifecycle tracking, campaign-builder for e-commerce promotion, and sustainability dashboards to monitor carbon metrics.”
7. What concerns did you have going into the trial or pilot?
“We needed assurance the system could handle our eight-phase rollout - from initial lead capture through to advanced e-commerce listings - and it has delivered flawlessly.”
8. How smooth was the setup and training process?
“We had detailed discovery workshops to map requirements and then worked in short agile sprints. Recycly became an extension of our team via Teams channels, making training very smooth.”
9. Were there any surprises or pleasant discoveries once you were live?
“The quick turnaround on feature requests and the ability to populate data at every lifecycle stage for traceability was a fantastic surprise.”
10. Walk me through a typical day now that you’re on Recycly. What’s different?
“Our team logs in each morning to review new leads in the CRM, updates asset statuses via barcode scans, builds targeted marketing lists, processes e-commerce orders, and monitors sustainability KPIs – all in one unified interface.”
11. How has barcode-driven scanning, inventory and reporting freed up your time or reduced errors?
“Automated scanning eliminates manual entry mistakes, and real-time reporting means we can onboard clients faster and address pipeline issues immediately.”
12. Has Recycly’s chain of custody and audit trail reduced your compliance risk?
“Our complete audit trail is now centralised, making compliance reporting straightforward and reducing the risk of missed documentation.”
13. What’s your single most-used or most-valuable feature?
“The customisable dashboards for different user roles - they deliver exactly the data each team needs without overwhelming them with choices.”
14. Anything unexpectedly useful you didn’t expect when you signed up?
“The built-in campaign builder for e-commerce - it’s surprisingly intuitive and has boosted our online sales with minimal effort.”
15. How has your ongoing support experience been – both with Recycly and any resellers?
“Incredible. Recycly has provided solutions for every issue – big or small – and shared best-practice tips throughout.”
16. How do you feel about the product roadmap and future enhancements?
“I’m excited by upcoming environmental-scoring features; they’ll help us deliver even more value on our sustainability promise.”
17. If you had to put a number on it, what ROI have you seen (time saved, errors prevented, revenue uplift)?
“By consolidating systems, we’ve cut reporting time by over 50% and seen a 20% uplift in marketing response rates – making the investment absolutely worthwhile.”
18. What would you tell a colleague who’s on the fence about Recycly?
“Go for it. You get an integrated ERP, CRM, marketing and sustainability solution that scales with your business.”
19. On a scale of 0-10, how likely are you to recommend Recycly and why?
“10 out of 10 – cost-effective, highly responsive and fully integrated, it’s transformed our operations and profitability.”
20. Anything else you think we should shout about?
“Recycly are lovely people, technically knowledgeable and extremely responsive. I can’t imagine anyone regretting working with them.”
