Last updated: 12 November 2024 at 19:27:27 UTC by Administrator

Q: What format do I need my data to be in order to import it into Recycly?

Recycly accepts data in Excel or CSV files.

The easiest way to import is to start from the import template files which are provided for each area of Recycly, as shown below

Q: What if I want to import into a field that is not available in the import template?

To make the import templates easier to use, we do not include all possible fields in them, however it is possible to import into most fields that you can see in the Recycly interface.

To import into a field that is not in the template, you may include an additional column in your import file, with the same label as the field you wish to import into.

When the file is loaded into the Import wizard, Recycly uses the column headings to match all the fields to import into. If any are not matched automatically, you can simply select the correct field, as shown below:

Type the name of the field you are looking for

And select it to tell Recycly to import into it

Q: In the Address Book Import template, there is no "Company Name" column. How do I import company name?

The Address Book template allows you to import Companies, Contacts and Sites at the same time, as shown in the example below

In the above example we are importing

  • "Clayfield High School" as a Company/Organisation

  • "Jane Briggs" as an Individual, within Clayfield High School

  • "Bill Price" as an Individual, within Clayfield High School

  • "Clayfield Theatre" as a Site associated with Clayfield High School

The resulting record Clayfield High School company record in Recycly looks like the below
